Description of Logix Processor Unit 1769-L35CR
The 1769-L35CR processor module is a ControlNet processor module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It has been designed in an open style enclosure. This ControlNet processor module is used to store the network parameters and settings locally. It is available with a memory size of 1.5 MB. The processor module has the ability to broadcast and receive system-shared tags over the network. It can be easily installed using a DIN Rail mounting base. The front panel has LED indicators to show different status updates. This standard controller module supports expansion memory by using a Compact Flash card. It can save and retrieve user applications from the expansion memory. The 1769-L35CR processor module is equipped with a single RS-232 serial port, 1 ControlNet port, 1 redundant control port (Channel B), and 1 NAP port. The NAP port can support up to 30 I/O modules at a time.
The 1769-L35CR controller supports as many as 30 I/O modules in a
maximum of 3 I/O banks with 2 expansion cables.
The 1769-L35CR is used with Allen Bradley 1769 CompactLogix family. This processor has a built-in One (1) RS232 and Two (2) ControlNet communications port for redundancy. The redundant ControlNet communication port enables connection to high availability data highway where critical data are actively exchanged. The controller has a memory of and 1.5MB memory with an optionally expandable non-volatile memory with the use of 1784-CF64 or 1784-CF128 CompactFlash card. These non-volatile memory add-ons has 64 Kbytes and 128 Kbytes memory respectively. The controller can also be used for communications over DH485, DeviceNet and Ethernet using Peer to Peer messaging. RTU functionality is also supported by this processor in Full and Half duplex mode. Local RS232 ports may be used for upload and download operation, DH-485 network interfacing and ASCII communication.

I/O Module Overview
Each I/O module includes a built-in removable terminal block with finger-safe cover for connections to I/O sensors and actuators. The terminal block is behind a door at the front of the module. I/O wiring can be routed from beneath the module to the I/O terminals.
